Demand Management

Analyze and proactively manage business demand for new services or modifications to existing functions or service volumes.

Guidelines:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Collaborating with the business to prioritize demand to add value to the business

Developing and disseminating information about demand patterns

Conducting "what-if" analyses and scenario planning to develop ideas and proposals to increase business value

Suggesting responses to both short- and long-term demand and facilitating decision-making and planning

Integrating demand analysis and planning with complementary strategic, operational and change planning processes.

Demand Management: Level 5.

Performs analysis and planning of demand management activities. Provides advice to help stakeholders adopt and adhere to a coordinated approach to demand management. Manages the integration of demand management with complementary strategic, operational and change management processes. Maintains a register of business requests and directs requests to the right place. Reports on the status of each request. Reviews new business proposals and provides advice on demand issues. Works with business representatives to negotiate and implement short and medium term changes in demand.

Demand Management: Level 6.

Defines approach and establishes policies for identifying, analyzing, planning, controlling, and documenting demand for services and products. Organizes the scoping and prioritization of strategic business changes with policymakers and business direction. Interacts with and influences senior stakeholders to add value to the business for new or existing services and products. Leads the development of demand management capabilities. Leads the integration of demand management with complementary strategic, operational and change management processes.
